He wondered if shopping was the predictable thing to do. For an Evans it probably was. But Ryan hadn't had time to shop recently and now that he'd arrived in Albuquerque he definitely planned on enjoying some shopping time. He needed the perfect oufit for their reunion. Of course nothing too flashy...or maybe flashy was good he'd always enjoyed bright colors. Case in point would be his outfit today, bright red pants with a white top and red and black fedora. If that didn't make him stand out from the crowd...well, he simply wouldn't be trying any more. He always prided himself on color coordination, it came in second and only to his hat collection. Which to be honest had only grown rather than shrank.
Then again Ryan's talents were in high demand these days. On and off Broadway. So he had money to waste on his already extensive hat collection. He had to have packed at least fifty of them for this trip, and he still was unconvinced that it was enough. Which was why he was shopping at the moment. Albuquerque might not have all the fashion that New York or other cities did, but Ryan knew the shops here like he knew the back of his hand. And he knew where to go to get a perfectly fabulous hat. At the moment though Ryan was just window shopping. The blond peered through the window of a shop that he and Sharpay frequented in high school. The object of his attention was a jeff cap in mint green. He'd forgotten that this store sold hats as well.
Not that it mattered at the moment. Ryan just wanted that hat the way a desert wanderer wanted water. Normally he would have to stop and ask himself if he had anything that went with that particular hat. Today, he didn't care.
He'd already gone through the process of buying it (a pleasurable process actually since the cashier remembered him fondly) before he realized a little sheepishly that he probably didn't have an outfit for this hat. Oh well, sometimes the impulse to buy simply overtook him. And those ended up being the best buys any way. After exiting the shop he caught sight of a familiar head of long blonde hair. "Oh my god, Shar!" He enthused obviously happy to see his twin sister. It had been a while since both their busy schedules allowed for a break to catch up with each other. Even though they texted, called and IMed nearly every day it just wasn't the same. And Ryan didn't have the pleasure of hugging her like he was now.
